Court - Superior Court of New Jersey The Surrogate Court operates with limited jurisdiction. If a dispute arises, the Surrogate cannot intervene; the parties involved must resolve their issues through the New Jersey Superior Court. Disputes are filed with the Surrogate's Office, as the Surrogate also serves as the Deputy Clerk of the Superior Court, Chancery Division, in the Probate Part, and the Chancery Division, Family Part for adoptions.
